Because generally accepted theories of sensory integration suggest that visible gestures should not affect judgments of auditory tone length, I wanted to examine whether these gestures would affect the perception of other sounds. Therefore, this experiment paired the same gestures with a variety of other instrument notes (piano, horn, clarinet, voice, and white noise) to see if they were similarly affected.
